Educational Support which includes
brochures and books and internet access.
Toys/Gifts for the children who have
special procedures at the out-patient clinic
as well as providing gifts to children in
the hospital throughout the year. Birthday
gifts are also given to the children.
Blood Bank Donation/Blood and Bone Marrow
Drives - Candlelighters families have
access to blood products for their children.
Two-bedroom House provides a home for
parents to stay while their child is
receiving treatment. The home was opened in
1981 and is called the Doug-Out. This home
was named in remembrance of Doug York who
lost his life to cancer.
Emergency Assistance available to
families with special needs; such as
groceries, transport, clothing, etc.
Van Transport to and from the
hospital and or clinic for cancer treatment.
Hospital Visitation to newly
diagnosed families by a parent who has had a
child with cancer. These visits are an
opportunity to help families feel less
isolated and alone in dealing with this
disease.
Teen Connection - This program
provides the teen with an opportunity to
meet other teens who have had cancer. They
participate in group discussion and monthly
activates/outings.
Bereavement Assistance - Emotional
support and financial assistance when
needed.
