Cancer Awareness Month -

Candle
Lighting Ceremonies - Two ceremonies
are held in September to honor and remember
children who have or have had cancer. We
welcome the entire family to join us for
the candle lighting ceremonies and to share
stories and information about their child. |

Brianna Cadman
Memorial Kids' Walk - This event helps
bring community awareness to childhood cancer
and shows support for families who have
a child with cancer. Families and businesses
are welcome to participate in the 1.5 mile
walk. Trophies and gifts are given to the
participants.

Christmas Celebration
- This event provides the families with
an opportunity to share their Christmas
holiday with hundreds of other families
who have or have had a child with cancer.
Gifts, entertainment, arts & crafts and
food are provided to the families. Candlelighters
and their many supporters host this yearly
Christmas party for over 600 participants.
There are over 150 volunteers that work
hard to turn the gym into a holiday delight
with wall, balloons and table decorations. |

Summer Picnic
- This event is for the entire family
to participate in an "old fashion" picnic.
Food, games, activities and gifts are provided. |

Pumpkin Patch Party
- This party is for the entire family
and is held at a large pumpkin patch farm.
Dinner, gifts games and activities are available
for the children and their families.

Easter Eggs Party
- Hundreds of Easter eggs are hidden
for the children to find. This event is
for the entire family. Baskets, gifts and
games are provided for the children.

Monthly
Support Meetings - Candlelighters
works directly with the families to identify
their need for support. Communication with
another family experiencing this devastating
disease is very beneficial. Candlelighters
monthly support meetings and family activities/parties
provides this support. |

Teen Connection
- There are many teens who are experiencing
cancer. Being a teen is very difficult and
having cancer compounds that difficulty.
Being able to speak and interact with other
teens experiencing cancer can be helpful.
The teen connection was formed at the teens
request in July 2002. |

Candlelighters
Camp - In the fall of 2006 Candlelighters'
families were hosted to an overnight family
camp by Thousand Pines Christian Camp in
Crestline, CA. The families were treated
to great food, games, paintball, courage
course, malt shop, craft room, gift shop
and much more. We all had a great time and
look forward to Spring 2008 Camp. |

Blood &
Marrow Drives - Candlelighters works
with the Blood Bank to help set up blood
and marrow drives. Donors can designate
the Candlelighters account when giving blood;
and Candlelighters' families will have access
to blood products. |

Michael
Cook's 50K Birthday Run
Michael Cook,
a long time supporter of Candlelighters
will be celebrating his 50th birthday by
running 50 kilometers on July 28, 2008.
He plans on finishing his run at the Candlelighters
office around 9:00-10:00 am on Monday. Michael
will be collecting donations along his run
to help children who have cancer. If you
are interested in sponsoring Michael please
contact Candlelighters at (909) 558-3419.
Michael was instrumental in the set up and
the Candlelighters Hair-cut-a-thon, when
he offered to shave his head in support
of children who have cancer. Mike wants
to get as many people involved as possible
by sponsoring him on this run!
He will be asking people to sponsor him

Candlelighters would like to invite those
who are interested to the Candlelighters
office on Monday July 28, 2008 at 9:00 to
help celebrate Michael's 50th birthday and

Michael is a firefighter at the Fort Irwin
Base.

Marvelous Mystics on
Parade
October 29, 2008 4:00 & 7:00pm at the
Sturges Center for the Fine Arts, 780
North "E" Street. San Bernardino. The
Marvelous Mystic on Parade is a Live "G"
Rated stage show for the entire family.
Proceeds to benefit Candlelighters
Childhood Cancer Foundation of the
Inland Empire.
Tickets are available to Candlelighters
families at no Cost.

The new
owner of Cold Stone Creamery in Loma
Linda wants to help Candlelighters
Childhood Cancer Foundation of the
Inland Empire fulfill their mission to
provide emotional, social, educational
and emergency assistance to families who
have a child with cancer. He has offered
to place donation canisters in his store
during the months of August and
September, for customers to place their
extra change, to help children who have
cancer.
In recognition of September being
Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
the Cold Stone Creamery in Loma Linda
will donate 20% of the cost of your
purchases to Candlelighters from
September 14 to 21, 2008 (Print and
bring in
THIS COUPON).
Also, during the week of September
14-21st, you can purchase the gold
ribbon pin, which is the symbol of
childhood cancer, at Cold Stone Creamery
for a donation of $10.00 to
Candlelighters.
